Alien Landscapes
Once again, the second graders have imaginary alien friends! For this project, 2nd graders imagined they had an alien pen pal, who wrote to them and described the weather on their alien planet. 2nd graders had the creative challenge of imagining an alien landscape and painting the weather!
To start this unit, students analyzed landscapes in small groups. They discussed the colors they saw, what the weather was, how the weather was shown, and made predictions about what would come next. We then talked about landscapes and horizon lines and students got to work on their own paintings. Next we will be creating our aliens out of clay!
