Aminah Robinson was a local artist. She lived and worked in Columbus, Ohio for many years. Aminah Robinson often created artwork about her community, telling stories of her family and people that were important to her through the artwork. Aminah Robinson combines many materials in her artwork, or uses mixed media. Third graders thought about places in their community that were important to them and created prints. Students then traded prints with others and combined many materials including fabric, yarn, buttons, and beads to create a mixed-media map of their community. Third graders practiced their sewing skills to add details to their work.
