Non-Objective Paintings
Students began this unit by looking at the work of the Swiss painter, Paul Klee. We focused on his non-objective works, or his works that don't have a subject. We investigated the colors he used and interpreted the works for personal meaning.
What is a color scheme?
A color scheme is the choice of colors an artist makes for his or her work. 5th graders chose a color, that color’s complement, and an accent color. They experimented creating many variations like tints and shades.
