Non-Objective Color Investigation
Students began this unit by looking at the work of the Swiss painter, Paul Klee. We focused on his non-objective works, or his works that don't have a subject. We investigated the colors he used and interpreted the works for personal meaning. We then moved into discussion about tints, shades, and complementary colors.
Each student then chose a color, the complement of that color and an accent color. They are currently working on creating a non-objective acrylic paintings using their chosen colors. Be prepared for many color variations- they are becoming paint mixing pros!
